Frequently Asked Questions
I want to redesign my kitchen or bathroom. What is the first thing that I do?
Create a material list, define the extent of the project and establish a budget for the project. Find out what products you like the best and make sure they fit that budget.
How do I coordinate my design job?
Select a color palette for the project you are going to handle. This will assist you in determining which products you select: paint or wallpaper, cabinets, sinks, fixtures, etc.
For a complete remodel this is the process to follow (if you go down to the studs)
- Make any plumbing location changes
- Make any electrical changes (move switches, outlets, etc.)
- Wallboard/Sheetrocking
- Wall coverings
- Floor coverings
- Cabinetry and countertops
- Install fixtures
How much time should I a lot for a remodel?
The job begins when you start looking for the products you want. On average we find our customers spend 2-3 weeks determining the design of a kitchen - choosing colors, cabinetry, fixtures, etc. Usually customers should spend about 1 week doing the same for the bathroom.
Complete Bathroom remodel: 6 weeks on average - $2,000-$3,000 (w/o moving fixtures) - working with Morgans
Complete Kitchen remodel: 3 months on average - $10,000-$13,000
(20% of the value of the home should be invested in the kitchen)
Cabinets alone average $5,800
